Summary/Abstract: The phenomena of pidgin and creole languages have turned out to be significant fertile grounds for research and speculation on the constitution, evolution, and acquisition of language. The purpose of this paper is to examine Derek Bickerton’s Language Bioprogramme Hypothesis specifically in the context of the debate between nativist and non-nativist theories on the emergence of language.
