Summary/Abstract: The development of high school education system towards school autonomy and future tendencies for increasing the public participation in school management raise the question to what extend school professionals and key community representatives are ready for a future partnership in this area. The public representative body in school today is the School Board of Trustees, the creation of public boards, which to act as a pubic audit to the School Management, is planned. A research among school principals, teachers and parents, described in this paper, clearly shows that while parents see the Board of Trustees with broader management authority, school principals and teachers still see it as a supportive body with limited functions. Such controversial perception indicates possible troubles for the effective implementations of future changes in school management and involving public representatives in it.
