Summary/Abstract: The paper aimed to analyze factors that can have an impact on the volume of trade between EU and South Korea. The main point of the research was that the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the EU and the Republic of South Korea entered into force in July 2011 (first trade deal with an Asian country). In the focus of the paper was one of the product’s sector, namely sugar confectionery. Within the conducted case study Poland is the investigated country. The value indices were used for analyzing changes occurring within the EU – South Korea trade before and after FTA entered into force.
