Summary/Abstract: The objective of this article is to provide an analysis of current migration crisis and its negative impact on the Schengen Area in relation to the threats to its basic principles. The authors in this purpose approximate a komplex of principles of the Schengen area which is allowing the full application of a wide range of freedoms for European citizens and a threats to the peaceful functioning of the area of freedom, security and justice caused by uncontrolled fl ow of illegal migrants. The same attention is paid to the origin of the migration crisis, specifically its origin and development and its relation to the escalation of security threats in the Schengen area. Specific space is dedicated to possible migration crisis solutions followed by recommendations of authors.
