Summary/Abstract: The year 2004 was a difficult one in Polish-German relations: The Expellees' Association (BdV) had the idea of setting up a 'Center Against Expulsion' in Berlin, and this, in conjunction with the activities of the Prussian Trust (which had been established for the purpose of articulating restitution and compensation claims against Poland for, among other things, German property alienated by the Polish State following the Second World War) led to heated reactions in Polish political circles and in society at large. These reactions were reflected not only in the Polish press and other medias, but also at the parliamentary level. On 10 September 2004, the Sejm - in a vote of all parties - adopted a controversial resolution in the matter of German war reparations and the unlawful claims being made in Germany against Poland and Polish citizens.
