Summary/Abstract: Purpose – The main aim of this paper is the theoretical introduction and critical analysis of using Business Intelligence (BI) and dashboards in performance management of an enterprise. There are also compared dashboards and scorecards in the article. Design/Methodology/approach – literature review, deduction. Findings – BI systems enable data gathering, data storage and data transformation into useful infor-mation supporting decision making. Dashboards are used in BI to communicate information effectively. Originality/value – Performance management is an integral part of the enterprise’s information and control system. The development of BI systems enable relevant changes of performance management. It refers especially to management reporting where managers can use the big potential of dashboards nowadays.
