Summary/Abstract: The main purpose of this article is an attempt to present key competences on the labor market in the era of the fourth industrial revolution. This topic has aroused great interest among scientists, but above all, employers and future employees. The text develops issues related to competence, competency gap and outline of the idea of the industry 4.0. The interest of enterprises in the concept of industry 4.0, and hence robotization and automation of processes, led to the development of new competences. Due to the rapid development and growth of innovation, their shortage in the labor market appeared. The observed revolution is in a sense a catalyst for very large changes in the industrial sector. It creates a huge opportunity for Polish enterprises that are in good condition, which can be demonstrated by the increasing number of new projects and the expansion of existing plants. The analysis is based on a thorough analysis of the literature and research. The results indicate that there are competence gaps in various areas of the Polish labor market, including IT, digital and managerial competences.
