On the History of Austrian Wine Law from 1907 to 1985

Summary/Abstract: This essay deals with the history of Austrian wine law. The contribution starts with the first Austrian Wine Act of 1907 and ends with the Wine Act of 1985, which can be considered as a direct outcome of the so called Austrian wine scandal in the same year. A brief outlook on the further development of the wine law after 1985 completes the description. At the end follows a summary of the legal development of legislation concerning wine in the period from 1907 to 1985 and conclusions about the main features of this legal development.
