The Application of Criminal Penalties against Elderly Persons

Summary/Abstract: Population ages, there are changes of demographic situation in individual countries. Also to slow the increase in offenders from the ranks of the elderly. It must be stated that the existing approaches of the classic criminal justice too do not reflect the specific needs of the elderly and related companies in the area of treatment options with this age categories of persons who perpetrate the illegal activity. The paper deals with the idea of fulfilling the purpose of punishment in relation to the perpetrators of the senior age in respect of the various theories of punishment, as they are in individual measures or sanctions. It deals with the specifics of treatment in prison, which refers to an increase in the proportion of persons aged 65 years in prison and the need to work out a comprehensive model of treatment of prisoners seniors.
