How To Understand Fidelity in Medical Translation?

Summary/Abstract: This paper shares the experience of translating of Book des ECN from French into Romanian. It also raises questions regarding the significance of fidelity in certain contexts from this reference book in the Romanian exam for medical residents. An ideal case of collaboration between specialists in translation and specialists in medicine, this translation experience shows how important is a customer who takes over the responsibility for the overall quality of the final translated text.
