Summary/Abstract: This paper deals with my study and sociolinguistic research work on translatology for the first time described here. In the first part of the paper, the main properties of translatology as an autonomous discipline, expansion and its essential turns in Europe and Montenegro will be summarized. In the second part, the concept of linguistic, anthropological and cognitive components of translatology, will be elaborated from three interrelated angles: (1) Montenegrin culture (2) personal adherence to accepted and shared beliefs and (3) identity. In the conclusion, on my textbook corpus of Basics of Translatology, for the Faculty of Philology in Montenegro, are noticed culturally marked themes and tasks in different phases of the textbook context. It is precisely discussed the term culture itself, which is related to the nature of language and the position of an invisible translator or interpreter within it.
