Summary/Abstract: Pheng Cheah sees revival of cosmopolitanism as a logical response to the continuing integration of the world (economic, social, political and cultural) in the global system. He questions the concept of cosmopolitanism in its contemporary presence and analysis interesting shift in postcolonial cultural studies from the critique of cosmopolitan culture (antiuniversal/anticosmopolitan discourses) to the promotion of the new radical cosmopolitanism (the theory of cultural hybridity).
