Summary/Abstract: This paper is based on an analysis of interviews with Albanians from Kosova and Albanians from Albania. Focused on personal stories of two Albanian families, one from Prishtina and one from Tirana, the paper aims to see how their lives are affected by the war and how they unfold their experiences to one another. Both families had a coexistence for two months during the spring of 1999 and remained friendly forever after this moment. The family from Tirana has helped the family from Prishtina. They shared everything during this period of time. The stories show how Albanians from Kosova have experienced the war situation during 1999 and how was their perception of Albanians from Albania before Kosova's crises. Self-perception and perception of other Albanians is in the focus of this paper. In both narratives, families create a new perception and experience a major change in their viewpoint towards one another. I will approach the problem in question based on personal experience of my own, and the storytellers I have interviewed.
