Summary/Abstract: Polish entrepreneurs in recent years put more and more on innovation, which immanently is associated with a greater risk of implementation of a business idea. Higher risk translates into smaller opportunities to raise capital from the so-called traditional sources. Crowdfunding is a new approach to financing projects whose initiators are mostly startups, at the same time being a response to the gap in financing such ventures during the crisis, where traditional financing methods, such as bank loans or business angels, have proved unattainable for innovative business ideas. The aim of this article is to try to answer the question of what are the prospects for crowdfunding development as an innovative form of financing entrepreneurship in the Polish economic realm. For the purpose of the work and the verification of the research hypothesis, conducted in July–September 2017, a CAWI quantitative survey was conducted on 56 companies operating in technology parks or industrial and technological parks in Poland. Based on the research conducted, it was concluded that, in the opinion of respondents, the idea of social financing of business ideas is in the process of continuous development and development, and the added value of using this form of financing is not only the acquisition of the necessary cash, but primarily the examination of market demand or its creation.
