Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the book “Далëкiя i блiзкiя. Беларускiя пiсьменнiкi замежжа” by Jan Czykwin as a phenomenon of literary criticism with its specific features of the genre structure and the author’s approach to literary aspects. The emphasis is put on different genres of literary criticism: an essay, a literary portrait, a sketch, which justifies discussion on the genre variety of the book that consists of genre-generic forms such as documentary-memoir literature, journalism and essays.
