Post-post-communism and Cultural Wars

Summary/Abstract: The essay aims at showing in what ways discussions on post-colonialism become integrated into cultural wars conducted in today’s Poland. The first section analyses the notion of cultural war(s) in our contemporary cultural-studies/political-science literature. The author also discusses his own concept of ‘post-post-communism’ as a social/political formation that has followed post-communism. The following sections make use of the initial part’s findings in analyses of disputes on the national question. It is found that a number of elements of this rhetoric are reducible to a concept of ‘genuine existence of the nation’ as contradicted with ‘non-genuine existence’ of the same.
