Summary/Abstract: Developments in all areas of today's world have made the needs of the elderly population quite different compared to previous years. Especially in the 2000s, individuals aged 65 years and older are considered to be elderly, but today 75 and above individuals are included in the elderly group. Changes in this age group have revealed both the need for healthcare and financial planning for the elderly. This need of the elderly group has led to the emergence of a new field of expertise consisting of a combination of finance, economics and marketing. In today's literature, this area of expertise related to elderly individuals is called financial gerontology. Financial gerontology is shaped by the needs of the 21st century old group. Accordingly it became widespread because of purposes, such as protecting the elderly from financial point of view. The aim of this study is to explain conceptual explanation of financial gerontology discipline which is recently introduced in literature and to include studies on this subject abroad. The aim of this study is to explain concept of financial gerontology discipline which is newly found in literature and to include researches abroad in this study. For this purpose, foreign literature has been examined in detail and the literature on financial gerontology has been analyzed.
