Summary/Abstract: The focus of this paper is the history of pedagogical education in Ruse. For more than 130 years Ruse has been a training centre for kindergarten and primary school teachers. At the very beginning there were pedagogical courses in Higher education. Later on an Institute for teachers had been established. In 1994 the Institute became part of the University of Ruse and it was transformed into a Faculty of Pedagogy. The difficult and noble mission of the educators has been passed on through the generations, promoting teaching with love, dignity and hope.
