Summary/Abstract: The B’nai B’rith Order was created in the US in the 1840s in the aftermath of a secession from American Freemasonry, but with one general restriction: it was available only for people with Jewish origins. Soon, it spread across several European countries. In the territory of former Poland, a “Solidarity” lodge was created, which gave birth to almost all the other lodges in the Second Polish Republic. At the end of the 1930s, the Polish lodges made a decision to create an youth organization Aleph Zadik Aleph, which was supposed to be based on American patterns and be a kind of preparation for candidates to regular lodges. Both B’nai B’rith and Aleph Zadik Aleph had a strictly initiatory, ritual and symbolic nature, which explains why it is called “the Order”. The documents and sources that have been preserved let us follow the idea of educating the young generation in America, especially the people facing the challenges of contemporary times, such as assimilation, Zionism, upholding traditions, participation in the new society, losing identity. The concept of transmitting educational ideas onto the Polish ground seems to be interesting too.
