Summary/Abstract: In this article the authors introduce their own interpretation of the current state of the Russian educational area. The purpose of this paper is not only to demonstrate the contradictory processes that occur today but also to analyse probable impacts that may be a result of these unsolved contradictions. Based on the methodological principles developed in Russian philosophy of education studies as well as positions of A. Schutz, H. Baumann, P. Bourdieu, J. Agamben and some foundations of the theory of risk the authors state that Russian educational area despite the reforms is in a risk-taking situation. The undoubted benefits of proclaimed decisions do not bring any desired effect due to the development and exacerbation of uncertainty as the main characteristic of the current state of Russian education. It is manifested in the growing bureaucratization and negative differentiation of educational potentials of the main subjects of the educational process - state, family, civil society and individuals.
