Summary/Abstract: The paper elaborates the intellectual and public political engagement of Professor Nikola Kovač, a correspondent member of the Academy of Sciences and Arts, in a historic turning point for Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is about the contribution of academician Nikola Kovač to the social development of Bosnia and Herzegovina and social changes in the period from 1989 to 2007, when the premature death had befallen him.
