Summary/Abstract: Sustainable development and African and/or Ivorian languages is an important issue. The work of international symposia reflects on this in order to propose an outline of solutions to the problems facing the whole planet. Ivorian languages, to fully play the role of vectors of knowledge and sustainable development, should be introduced in the teaching-learning of children at the national level. This could accelerate their entry into the digital world after having benefited from the normalization, instrumentalisation or standardization operations necessary for their development. It is a necessity to introduce them into the educational system because languages are the guarantors of the continuity, the maintenance of the Ivorian culture and its transmission to future generations. We refer to Calvet Louis’ theory about the role and the utility of language. It permits us to understand how language is important in development plan for societies.
