Summary/Abstract: In the south of the Middle Dniester region there were investigated five necropolises: three barrow cemeteries (Saharna “Ţiglău”, Saharna “Gura Hluboaca”, Alcedar) and two without barrows (Climăuţii de Jos, Poiana), in which there were found 70 burials. In the necropolises the dead were usually placed in sepulchral pits surrounded by a stone ring / cromlech or laid in cists. Paired burials often occurred. Beside the necropolises the deceased were also buried in the perimeter of the settlements (Saharna “Dealul Mănăstirii”, Glinjeni “La Şanţ”) in specially arranged “burial chambers”.
