MEASURING THE PERFORMANCE OF BUSINESS ORGANIZATIONS PERFORMING LEAN PRODUCTION SYSTEM AND A PRACTICE FROM KAHRAMANMARAS PROVINCE

Summary/Abstract: In today ’s competitive environment, basic philosophy for business organizations is to present products that are both economical and of good quality by meeting the demands of clients swiftly. Actualizing this philosophy requires a set of accurate production activities for business organization so that they can be productive and capable to compete in production activities. At this point, a lean production system comes to the prominence. In this study, lean production system is explained as theoretical and then a measuring of a successful performance of a textile factory in Kahramanmaraş province which implements lean production system is presented. For this purpose, senior and mid-level executives of the factory have been interviewed, observated and general data required has been acquired from old and current documents. Besides, pictures of places and practices have been taken at points considered necessary.
