Summary/Abstract: The Urartu Kingdom became a significant military power in Near East after completing the process of becoming a state and this meant that an intensive military struggle would begin with Assyrians. That struggle between Urartu and Assyrian Kingdoms would designate the political geography of East Anatolian Region. Military expeditions organized by Assyrians to Northern Syria and Anatolia enable that Kingdom to dominate the area near the Urartu ’s central regions. The pillages and taxes that the Assyrians took from the Kingdoms located in that region were vitally important for its economy. In addition, the pillages and military garrisons founded in that region provided advantages to Assyrians for next military expeditions. After establishing a powerful domination in North regions, Assyrians would implement extreme colonist policies against local beyliks. The local powers felt suffocated under the extreme policies of Assyrians and tried to fınd a solution to that situation by being an ally of Urartu Kingdom which was regarded as a military and political power. Urartu Kingdom put the Assyrians into trouble from time to time with the help of local beyliks.
