Summary/Abstract: The article presents forms of social pathology that can occur in destructive cult groups belonging to the category of new religious movements – a complex and multifaceted cultural phenomenon. He discusses the problems of mass suicides in a historical context and the phenomenon of religious terrorism. These issues constitute a challenge for individual countries to take appropriate steps (legal regulations, monitoring, exchange of information at the international level), aimed at ensuring the security of citizens.
