Summary/Abstract: Advancements in the area of information technology, globalization,fast changes and competition have complicated the environment where organizations exist which compelling environment forced organizations to form various practices. This present descriptive study has been carried out to examine the effects of "Organizational Downsizing” which has been being applied since 1980's as a natural consequence of economic crisis, on the personnel remained. There are mainly two groups affected by the organizational downsizing process. These groups are the laid off employees and the survivors of the lay off Downsizing forms changes in the employees that survive the layoffs. These changes can be observed psychologically and physiologically. 'The purpose of this research is to analyze if there is significant the relation between the organizational status of the survivors and the level of lay off fear they suffer from. The organizational status of the subjects is grouped as entrepreneur, manager and worker. The study has been realized among 430 entrepreneurs, managers and workers working in the 100 medical device manufacturers companies in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir. The subjects of the research are 36 entrepreneurs, 186 managers and 208 workers.
