Summary/Abstract: The exhibition ‘Barokní synagogy v českých zemích’ [Baroque Synagogues in the Czech Lands] opened at the Jewish Museum in Prague’s Robert Guttmann Gallery on 3 March 2011. It is dedicated to the memory of the Prague-born architect Alfred Grotte (12 January 1872, Prague – 17 June 1943, Terezín) who was one of the first to become involved in researching old synagogues and whose work, drawings and photographs are a priceless source of information about monuments which are no longer in existence.
