Summary/Abstract: Rabbis traditionally condemned internal disputes (mahlokot) in Jewish communities, instead advocating conciliation and cohesion. The Prague Jewish community, however, was very far off the ideal situation, at least from the sixteenth century. The perpetually conflicting community, however, surprisingly quickly managed to come to a reconciliation at the beginning of the eighteenth century.
