Summary/Abstract: The widespread nature of the so-called ‘collection points’ undoubtedly constitutes the foundation stone for the current textile collection of the Jewish Museum in Prague in terms of scope and gave rise to one of the latter’s main advantages on an international scale. The textiles in the collection were shipped from localities in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia to the wartime Central Jewish Museum in Prague without the application of any kind of selective criteria in terms of quality, quantity or any other attributes. The integrated nature with which the textile collection was put together in Prague during the war, therefore means that it is predestined to provide a comprehensive picture not only of the approach of the individual Jewish communities to the principles of maintaining, preserving and assessing their own textiles but also of the various regional and religious specificities that appear in the form of the textiles used by Bohemian and Moravian Jewish communities and prayer associations.
