Summary/Abstract: The National Protection Department for Slovenia (OZNA) was founded in 1944, as part of the National Protection Department for Yugoslavia, following the reorganisation of the Internal Affairs Section of the Presidency of the Slovene National Liberation Council (SNOS). The political intelligence service was transferred from the jurisdiction of the Home Office to that of the Ministry of Defence, where it remained until the end of the war and beyond. OZNA had four sections. The text outlines the activity of its first section for Slovenia on the occupied Slovene territory.
