Discrimination through the stereotypical approach to gender social roles

Summary/Abstract: The text focuses on the discussion of the problematics of stereotypes regarding social roles. First, the term stereotype is defined. Next, the factors that constitute the categorization of stereotypes regarding social roles (B.) were highlighted and differentiated from other categorization processes. Subsequently, it was pointed out that the issue is of importance for the analysis of law - the provided examples show sample legal regulations and judicial resolutions in which the way of understanding specific social roles of genders was of key importance (C.). In the last part of the text, there is an attempt to determine the role of law, or the role the law could play, in the process of maintaining or transforming social attitudes, especially those of harmful character (D.).
