Summary/Abstract: The usefulness of publishing the study discussed here is unquestionable and twofold. It consists in the inclusion of a summary of ten years’ work of the Student Scientific Penitentiary Group, established at the Department of Penal Enforcement Law at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Łódź, and the presentation of a number of valuable and intellectually stimulating articles. Among the authors are academics, judges and other professionals associated with the judiciary. It is worth emphasizing that the authors of some of the studies are also students.
