Summary/Abstract: Mehmet İhsan Efendi, on whom there is no sufficient study, was the father of Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu, one of the prominent scientists of Turkey. Mehmet İhsan Efendi was born in 1902 in Yozgat and he received an education from leading scholars of the time in Yozgat. Then he moved to Egypt to carry on his studies. Mehmet İhsan Efendi was a learned and wise man. He held some significant duties in Egypt and died in 1961 in Cairo.
