Summary/Abstract: In his treatise the author offers and analysis of characteristic features inherent in the civil war that went on in the north of Italy from September 1943 to the spring of 1945, as well as reveals the reasons for which the progressive Italian public opinion has rejected the term »civil war« to describe the struggle between the resistance movement and the RSI (Italian Social Republic).
