Rape by deception

Summary/Abstract: Deception constitutes one of the elements of the crime of rape. It consists of different types of behaviour including drug and alcohol use, however, there also such behaviours that may be treated as deception although, in fact, they are not deceptive from criminal-law perspective. There also appear new forms of deceptive behaviour by means of which offenders subject their victims to sexual intercourse or other sexual act. Rape by deception is less frequent than rape with the use of violence or unlawful threat.
