The Information and Analytical System as a Modern IT Tool to Support the Decision-making Process in Policing Crisis Situations

Summary/Abstract: The article presents Information and Analytical System constructed to support the decision-making process of people who are responsible for policing crisis situations. Constructing this modern IT tool was financed by The National Centre for Research and Development. The author discusses police crisis management planning and safeguarding in Poland. In that context he presents basic features of the new system and its beneficial influence on the decision-making process. Moreover, the in-service training of police crisis management commanders has been discussed. The author highlights that the integration of the new Information and Analytical System together with the Simulator of Police Actions and Operations is possible. The Simulator of Police Actions and Operations has successfully been used in the Polish police professional education.
