THE ORNAMENTAL PHENOMENON IN ACADEMIC AND FOLKLORIC MUSIC: HISTORIOGRAPHIC APPROACH

Summary/Abstract: The bibliographic sources, which, to a greater or lesser extent, show the value of the ornamental phonomenon come fromdifferent fields of research. We analyzed the ornament treated in musical literature. All the precious information contained inthe researches devoted to material art, especially the traditional ones, has not been ignored, and it has helped us discover someaspects of the ornamentation of traditional instrumental melodies in violonistic interpretation. The consulted bibliography willallow us to elucidate the following problems of the ornamental phenomenon: origin, evolution in time, significance, content,place in the artistic entity, classification criteria and types of ornaments.
