Is Drawing an Academic Activity?

Summary/Abstract: Miłkowska analyses two events connected with theories of drawing as the field of academic stu-dies: the Third International Drawing Competition (2006) and the Drawing Conference of Academies and Art Institutes (2009). The Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław organized both events. Several artists who participated in the competition were asked to answer the question: ‘What is contemporary academic drawing?’. They were supposed to answer the question in their own artistic form. Also, Miłkowska writes on the ideas connected with the conference on drawing.
