Connection between Generations –Sign of Culture

Summary/Abstract: The series of works which have been founded five years ago have already received wide acclaim. The first in the series was “The Life of St. Nino and Conversion of Kartli” (2009), the second – Iakob Tsurtaveli’s “The Martyrdom of Shushanik” and Early- Christian Culture” (2012), and the third is this collection - “Theological-Literary School of Athos”, which was published by Institute of Literature Press. Georgian literature owes much to the literary school of Athos. Therefore each fact which supports the study of this historical source should be encouraged. It will be a step forward towards finding out national identity. The pathfinder of Institute of Literature continues the tradition established by the predecessor researchers in Georgian philology. Besides tradition, there is worldview and culture one the one hand, as a form for organizing space and on the other hand, worship of ancestor’s cult, which is nothing more than the continuity of history.
