Summary/Abstract: After his meeting with the French president in Paris in 1966, Todor Jhivkov said before the Bulgarian journalists: “This is the greatest day in my life! I spoke with General De Gaulle!” In this declaration of a head of state from the other side of the Iron curtain there is too much truth, too much admiration for one of the world acknowledged leaders, who left a profound trace in the History.“The last great man in the History”, “De Gaulle is not a historical leader, he is the History”, “Giant”, those are only a couple of tenderly definitions, which gave the French people about the General.
