Summary/Abstract: The famous Romanian scientist Emil Racoviță (1868–1947), the brilliant zoologist and explorer of the South Pole with Belgica (1897–1899) and the founder of a new science, Biospeleology, remained in the Romanian posterity also due to the tremendous work done by a few of enthusiast disciples of Racoviță in their attempt at presenting his masterpieces in a Romanian form. In this paper, we present the huge amount of documents and personal objects belonging to Emil Racoviță, donated by his family after his death to the „Grigore Antipa” National Museum of Natural History. These documents were used for the monumental work ”Emil Racoviță Opere alese” (Emile Racovitza Selecte Works) published by Constantin Motaș, Radu Codreanu and Valeriu Pușcariu in 1964 and for his Antarctic Journal, published by Alexandru Marinescu in 1999.
