Summary/Abstract: The concepts "setting", "session", "encounter" are reviewed in the paper, and also some other loan-words, settled into the Bulgarian psychotherapeutic vocabulary. Specific conditions and therapeutic approaches are compared of two of the leading therapeutic schools — Psychoanalytic and Existential-Humanistic, particularly presented by the Carl Rogers person-centered Approach. Differences in organization, performance, and fundamentals of psychotherapeutic practice are discussed, and also some issues related to the confounding of concepts and techniques of incompatible paradigms.
