Summary/Abstract: The core problem of this article stems from reading of works by Maria Dudzikowa. According to, among others, the perspective of unum necessarium (K. Maliszewski) main categories of these texts were pointed and key article suggested. The considerations taken concern nodal topics of Dudzikowa’s thought – that are: metaphor in educational use and pedagogical status of common knowledge – with the contextual contribution of texts of such figures as Aristotle, S. Hessen, T. Hołówka, J. Przyboś, L. Witkowski. The conclusion reached is that as long as the pedagogical education concerns only the time in which it occurs (that is time of studying instead of actual educational work), there is no chance to overcome too restrictive socialization, political atrophy, cultural unification, ect.
