CREATION ACCORDING TO HUSAIN AL-JISR IN THE CONTEXT OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN RELIGION AND SCIENCE

Summary/Abstract: This article aims to explore the views of Husain al-Jisr who was an important figure of his time on universe, creation, evolution and first matter (heyula). Since this scholar is not very well known in Turkey, firstly a brief account of his life and his works will be given. In the second part, his views on creation, especially the impact of modern science on his thought will be examined. In addition, views of Muslim theologians and philosophers regarding this issue will be presented in order to make the subject accessible.
