Summary/Abstract: The author emphasized the double-character of the social philosophy of Hegel concerning the epochs of Antiquity and Modernity. In accordance with the analysis in this paper the philosophy of the economy proved to be the main field for the articulation of this specific position. Hegel`s philosophy of economy is based on the normative facticity within the structure of modernity and it accentuates the communal character of freedom supported by the welfare state. As constrasted with the reading of Fukuyama, Hegel`s social philosophy demonstrates the borders and the utopian character of liberalism.
