Summary/Abstract: In the middle of the twentieth century, especially in K. Oelher’s papers, a different treatment of the concept of self-consciousness was announced; this treatment, contrary to the dominant concepts, obliged to the interminent view of this issue from the ancient times till nowadays. In this sense Socrates’ standpoint: ‘The man is his soul’ gets its remarkable status, which is the theme to be scrutinized in this paper.
