Summary/Abstract: The article presents briefly the fundamental ideas of the importance of language, the importance of language in society, the context in which a legal translation is formed and developed, the necessity for a complete and reliable juridical translation and therefore forwards proposals for a master 2. It also highlights the four main causes that can lead to problems in translating specific terms due to the fact that we find ourselves in the presence of two very different law systems, that the juridical terms have a particular content and also a different philosophy and judicial organisation specific to every law system. Sometimes terms can even be impossible to translate because they refer to a legal institution that is unknown in other law systems. In its final part the article points out aspects that have been caused by the translation of the book “La Dignité de l’Homme dans l’Enseignement de l’Église Catholique”.
