Summary/Abstract: The study investigated factors of inactive lifestyle and their relationship with risky behaviour in children. The research was done based on a survey completed by parents of 1,880 pre-school and school children residing in five towns in the Province of Vojvodina. The system of variables was taken over from the survey questionnaire that was aimed at assessing three dimensions of the studied topic: 1) Social (demographic, socio-economic) characteristics of participants – both the parents and children; 2) Levels and forms of physical activity of both parents and children; and, 3) Forms and levels of aberrant behaviour in children. The concept of indicators was drawn from the understanding of risky behaviours of adolescents, as described by Brent & Moritz (1996). The most powerful impact on limiting risky behaviours resulted from a combination of the following four factors: local community, poverty index, commitment index, and index of risky behaviour.
