Summary/Abstract: This article treats the ways of expressing time in Slavic languages (What time is it? – It is ...o’clock) and pays a special attention to the transformation of the old genitive case ending into a definite article in Bulgarian (including Macedonian). This phenomenon is regarded as a balkanism by the authors.
